Esther 4:14(a) ESV
For if you keep silent at this time, relief and deliverance will rise for the Jews from another place, but you and your father’s house will perish.
What we see here is the message of Purim ringing through the ages. Firstly, that deliverance WILL ARISE for the Jews, always. Secondly, that it is better to SPEAK UP, than to fade away in silence. The power of God's Word and truth is in its proclamation.
Like David spoke to the Philistine Goliath it is imperative to speak to any situation confronting the people you care for. Haman made a proclamation and Mordechai countered it. Hamas made proclamations and unfortunately the Israeli society was too divided to respond in time for October 7. They are more vigilant now. Let's look at modern examples of countering threat with spoken truth:
Zelenskiyy says in the White House that America 🇺🇸 will soon feel the effect of the Ukraine 🇺🇦 war, but Trump counters it, saying, No, we won't. He is unwilling to be dragged into a third world war.
Dominik Tarczynski, Polish member at the European Parliament, says, as Europe 🇪🇺 bows under Islam intimidation, that Europe is a Christian continent and he will fight until victory; so help him God. It is Poland🇵🇱 who publicly declared Jesus Christ as their King. It is Poland where the Warsaw Uprising took place against the tyranny of Nazism.
In South Africa 🇿🇦 some characters sing ‘Kill the Farmer, Kill the Boer’ - effectively calling for genocide. Trump stands up for the Afrikaner, offering them assylum. Other voices rise for their preservation. The Battle of Blood River is called to remembrance and the covenant made with Almighty God.
NOW IS NOT A TIME FOR SILENCE. Esther first announced a fast and then made a public appeal. First let the heavenlies hear your voice, then address the earth.
You were born for such a time as this!
Purim is happening this week sunset 13th to sunset 14th and the day following in Jerusalem. This year it coincides with a lunar eclipse, a blood moon.
On Friday: PRAY for minority groups under threat… the Alawites, the Druze, the Afrikaner and others, that the great deliverance of God be seen in them.
On Saturday: PRAY for the peace of Jerusalem and the preservation of Jews and Christians all over the world.
Judges 5:20-21 NIV
[20] From the heavens the stars fought, from their courses they fought against Sisera. [21] The river Kishon swept them away, the age-old river, the river Kishon. March on, my soul; be strong!
