THE SHIELD #7 Proverbs 31 Men
Revelation 5:10 ESV
“…and you have made them a kingdom and priests to our God, and they shall reign on the earth.”
We've often heard speak of the Proverbs 31 woman and how she typifies the righteous example, but in today's post I would like to draw your attention to the Proverbs 31 man, that in your prayers you might require of the Lord to raise such.
In the beginning of this Proverb, King Lemuel describes wisdom from the ‘oracle his mother taught him’ and the image of a righteous man appears:
Verse 2: He is mindful of his ways.
Verse 3: He is not led astray by loose women.
Verse 4: He is not interested in strong drink.
With these three things in place the Proverbs 31 man will prove unshakeable. From this foundation he can speak to his generation and be a true ambassador of the King of Heaven:
Proverbs 31:8-9 ESV
Open your mouth for the mute, for the rights of all who are destitute. Open your mouth, judge righteously, defend the rights of the poor and needy.
PRAY ~
O Lord, we call your sons from afar, to dwell in your house and walk in your ways. Strengthen generations of men for your renown and bruise the serpent under their heels, that your name might be magnified from the rising of the sun to the going down of the same. In the name of the Lord Jesus we pray.
